Learn to repot orchids

Riverland Nursery will host two Orchid Repotting Workshops in conjunction with Pelican Coast Farms Saturday, Jan. 10, at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., at Riverland Nursery, 13005 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers.

Learn how to repot or divide overgrown orchid plants. Discussions will include how to remove pot-bound

orchids, trim roots, find

appropriate con- tainer sizes, and the conditions necessary for re-potted plants to adapt to new containers. Topics such as black rot, root rot and insect infestation using natural products will be discussed.

The classes are suitable for beginners and those more familiar with growing orchids. These are hands-on workshops so participants are asked to bring an orchid they would like to repot. Participants will be provided with a repotting kit and all supplies necessary will be available at the workshops.

The registration fee is $25. Space is limited.

For more information or to reserve a seat, contact Riverland Nursery at 693-5555.
