Mastersingers hold auditions for 'Brahms Requiem'

Johannes Brahms Johannes Brahms The Fort Myers Symphonic Mastersingers will hold auditions on Sunday, Jan. 11 for singers interested in performing the "Brahms Requiem." There will be two performances with full orchestra, one on March 28 at First Presbyterian Church in Bonita Springs and a second at Burnt Store Presbyterian Church on March 29. The Mastersingers will be joined by the University Choir of Florida Gulf Coast University. Rehearsals have begun for the combined chorus.

"Brahms Requiem" is one of the most recognized choral masterpieces ever written and has not been performed in Southwest Florida in several years. The concert will be conducted by Nancy Cobb- Lippens, artistic director of the Mastersingers. Soloists will be Jeannie Darnell, soprano and Allan Henderson, baritone.
