Edison Festival of Light receives top billing

The Southeast Tourism Society has named the Chico's Charities Edison Festival of Light a "Top 20 Event."

The Fort Myers festival joins other winter events on the "Top 20" list such as the Bayou Lafourche Mardi Gras, BB&T Charleston Food & Wine Festival and the Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville.

The Southeast Tourism Society is a non-profit, membership organization that promotes tourism in the Southeast U.S.

The annual Edison Festival of Light commemorates the life and innovations of the famous inventor with science fairs, parades, marching band competitions, sporting events, and fireworks.

The 2009 Chico's Charities Edison Festival of Light will begin on Jan. 31 and continue through Feb. 22. If you would like to get involved by becoming a sponsor or by volunteering, stop by the office at 1524 Jackson Street or call 334-2999.
