Use caution around Blind Pass

Construction is attracting sharks

The Lee County Division of Natural Resources is warning beachgoers that the Blind Pass dredging project is attracting sharks. Robert Neal of the Division of Natural Resources said this is common for beach projects around dawn and dusk and that this project is more likely to attract sharks.

Mr. Neal said he's attempting to have appropriate warning signage in place in early January.

Beachgoers are encouraged to use caution in and around the water at Blind Pass.
