Country Inn earns green award

The Country Inn & Suites, on Summerlin Road, just before Sanibel Island, has been awarded the 1-Palm Green Lodging Certificate. This designation is only awarded to hotels which are showing a concerted effort to be environmentally conscious. Country Inn & Suites, which is owned by Shell Point Retirement Community, has been in operation at this location since 2001.

"We want to show our guests that we are taking every effort to ensure their comfort and enjoyment at our establishment, while also making sure to do our part in helping the environment," said Brian J. French, general manager for the hotel. "Even upon receiving this award, we are continuing our efforts to 'go green' even further by looking into other ways to help conserve our natural resources while operating a midscale hotel." The hotel maintains a public record of its Green Lodging information and is available for inspection at the front desk.
