HUSSEY Chris McEachern of GATES has passed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design AP exam to become a LEED Accredited Professional for GATES. Mr. McEachern has been employed as a project manager with GATES for more than five years. In that time, he has worked on various types of commercial construction, including the first commercial LEED certified public works building in Lee County, The Interpretive Center at Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. The Interpretive Center has won numerous local and state awards including the prestigious Grand Aurora Award from the Southeastern Builders Conference.
J. Durward Hussey Jr., president of Fort Myers-based OFM Builders & Consultants, was recently appointed by Gov. Charlie Crist to serve a four- term on the Construction Industry Licensing Board. The board is responsible for overseeing the enforcement and compliance of the construction industry. Mr. Hussey also serves on several Lee County industry boards including the Construction Licensing Board, Board of Adjustment and Appeals, and Mechanical (Plumbing) Board of Adjustment and Appeals; and is a state-licensed general contractor and roofer.
