Photo exhibit opens at J.N. 'Ding' Darling
Florida Cooter Turtle Alligators skulk. Herons stalk. Eagles scream and roseate spoonbills glide through the captivating wildlife exhibit, "Where the Wild Things Really Are, II." This show of photographer Sallie Rich's new work opens at The J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel on Jan. 2 and continues through Feb. 28. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. seven days a week in The Duck Stamp Auditorium of The Visitor's Center at The Refuge on San-Cap Road. In addition, Ms. Rich will discuss her work with visitors on Jan. 11 and on Feb. 2 from 2 until 4 p.m. in the Duck Stamp Auditorium.
Since 1988, Ms. Rich has photographed in "Ding" Darling Refuge, the locale for "American Crocodile," a winner in the 2008 "Ding" Darling Photo Contest. She has taken pictures during travels in Europe and during a 10-week camping adventure in the American West.
