The Angels of the Arts Awards recognizes the positive and essential impact

of artists, art organizations, artistic educators and supporters in Lee County's Quality of Life and Economic Development. The Academy Awards Style Ceremony will be held April 6, 2009, at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. Beginners and Intermediate

Instructor: Ann McCarty Sickles

Learn the exciting but complicated subject of portraits in a fun, informative environment. Artists will break the portrait down into its essentials of color spots and shapes of value to easily render a likeness. They will all work from one face to "see" the elements together. . Building on the Four Cornerstones of Painting (experienced beginners - advanced) - Session 1: Jan 9, 16, 23, and 30; $200/$240. Fridays, 9:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.

Instructor: Hollis Jeffcoat

This series of half-day sessions helps painters take their work to the next level of accomplishment by concentrating on the four cornerstones of painting — form, color, space, and composition. Ms. Jeffcoat's teaching approach is highly interactive and practical. Each workshop includes discussion, demonstrations, exercises, one-on-one instruction, learning from Masters and individual and group critique.
