Alliance holding winter arts camp

Children at the first annual Winter Arts Camp. Children at the first annual Winter Arts Camp. Not sure how to occupy the kids during winter break? The Lee County Alliance for the Arts, on the corner of McGregor and Colonial boulevards, is holding its second annual Winter Arts Camp, beginning Dec. 22 and running through Jan. 2.

Arts camp at the Alliance is offered for students in grades one through six and includes many types of activities. Campers participate in a variety of visual arts classes every day, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media and much more.

Each class will introduce an exciting new medium or technique and will culminate with several completed works of art. Children are invited to attend one or both weeks to experience the arts.

The Alliance guarantees your child a fun, creative and productive winter break. Wear paint clothes or bring a smock; creativity never stops at the canvas.

For more information, contact Scott Guelcher at 939-2787, education@artinlee. org or visit the Alliance for the Arts Web site, www.artinlee.org to download a registration form. The Alliance galleries and gift shop are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday- Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. The Alliance for the Arts is located at 10091 McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers.
