Beach decorating contest on again this year

The Greater Fort Myers Beach Area Chamber of Commerce will again sponsor the Annual Christmas Decorating Contest.

"We are very proud to be able to sponsor this contest for the citizens and businesses within the Fort Myers Beach Fire District," said Bill van Duzer, chairman of the board of the Beach Chamber.

"There are four categories in the contest," said John Albion, chamber president. "They are: homes, condos, businesses and RV club houses."

The cash prizes are: $75 for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third place in each of the four categories.

Judging will be done on Monday, Dec. 15, starting at 6 p.m. The date has been changed to include more contestants. People and business wishing to enter are asked to call the Chamber office at 454-7500. The deadline for all entries is noon on Dec. 15.
