O negative blood needed
Florida's Blood Centers is asking for donations immediately for all blood types, but especially O negative. O negative is the universal donor type of blood and is used in emergency and trauma situations. Increased hospital usage has greatly depleted the supply of O negative. Each donation will likely be transfused into a patient in a local hospital within 48 hours. Full Story
Habitat for Humanity adds maintenance division
Habitat for Humanity of Lee County is increasing its production in the community by adding a new maintenance division to its home-building experience. The additional department is available for maintenance needs throughout Lee and Hendry counties. Full Story
Fire training now part of college curriculum
Beginning next month, Edison State College will partner with the North Naples Fire and Rescue Department to offer a state-ofthe art Fire Academy certificate program.
