'Nutcracker' performed at BIG ARTS on Sanibel

Gulfshore Ballet, Southwest Florida's non-profit classical ballet school, will present two performances of "The Nutcracker" on Saturday, Dec. 13, in Schein Hall at Big Arts on Sanibel Island. The Christmas classic will feature Mirelle Hassenboehler and Simon Ball, principal dancers with The Houston Ballet.

Performances will be at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The 4 p.m. matinee performance is free for all children under the age of 16, courtesy of a grant from the Southwest Florida Community Foundation. Tickets for adults for the matinee are $10. Tickets for the evening performance and "Nutcracker Sweets" reception are $10 for children and $15 for adults.
