ArtFest calling for student artists

COURTESY PHOTO Cypress Lake High School Student COURTESY PHOTO Cypress Lake High School Student ArtFest Fort Myers, Southwest Florida's premier juried fine art festival, announces a call for artists for the high school art competition and exhibit, "Art Under 20." This special student show is located in the heart of ArtFest Fort Myers on the weekend of Feb, 7 and 8. A large gallery tent provides the opportunity for participating students to exhibit their artwork in a professional setting to 55,000 ArtFest Fort Myers patrons. Cash prizes totaling $6,000 and scholarships for the Ringling College of Art & Design Summer Teen Studio will be awarded to student competition winners.

ArtFest Fort Myers invites all Lee County high school students to participate.

All student art must be work completed solely by the displaying artist. Entries will be accepted in five categories: drawing, mixed media, painting, photography, and 3-dimensional. Each student entering the "Art Under 20" competition is required to submit a completed entry form on or before Wednesday, Dec. 10. Entry forms are available at through all Lee County high school art departments or the ArtFest Fort Myers office.

ArtFest Fort Myers features 200 professional artists from across the country, the "Art Under 20" exhibit and competition, the Kids@Art interactive art yard, great food and entertainment. Admission to ArtFest Fort Myers is free.
