Alliance selects new director
The Alliance for the Arts announced Lydia Antunes Black as the new executive
director.
Ms. Black joins the Alliance team with a wealth of nonprofit experience and a background in fundraising, development and public relations.
As executive director, she will be responsible for directing and maintaining the Alliance's artistic mission and business operations. Ms. Black graduated from Eastern University with a master's degree in nonprofit management and holds undergraduate degrees in communications and political science.
Prior to accepting the Alliance job, she served as director of development of a private Montessori school and as director of nonprofit management programs at a Washington, D.C. university. She brings experience and a proven track record of success in development and marketing which will be invaluable to the continued success of the Alliance for the Arts.
Ms. Black is the third executive director at the Alliance in the past year.
The Alliance for the Arts supports the artists and arts organizations in Lee County as the state-designated Local Arts Agency. The Alliance for the Arts galleries are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
