Success with your orchids

Riverdale Nursery will host another orchid class in conjunction with Pelican Coast Farms on growing of orchids without poisons and re-potting Saturday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m.

Discussion will include how to remove pot bound orchids from pots, trim roots, pot size, and the conditions necessary for repotted plants to adapt to the new pot. Other topics include the treatment of re-potted plants without poisons to control black rot, root rot, and insect infestation.

An extensive question and answer period will answer any questions regarding orchids.

The class is suitable for beginners and those familiar with growing orchids. There is no charge and a variety of unique and beautiful orchids and supplies with be available for sale.

Jerry and Sharon Meola own Pelican Coast Farms, a family-run commercial orchid nursery located in Buckingham.

Riverland Nursery is located at 13005 Palm Beach Blvd., three miles east of Interstate 75 at exit 141 on the south side.
