Wegman Design Group wins award

Wegman Design Group was awarded the American Society of Interior Designers Design Excellence Award 2008 for healthcare for the South Florida chapter. The project it submitted was Naples Community Hospital's "SeaCAREium," a complete remodel of the pediatric acute care unit.

Designed by principal Lori Wegman and assistant designer Loren Wegman, the vision was to create an imaginative and engaging environment to transport children and their parents away from their problems into another world where they can experience the magic and mystery of the sea.

ASID judges said the unit is "fun," a "creative concept," and employs a "nice use of colors, especially in the patient rooms. Very creative use of space, and oversized wall mounted items add real drama."
