Help times seven at east Fort Myers United Way House
Building on a prior success, United Way has opened a Lee County United Way House in east Fort Myers, bringing seven social service agencies to one spot. The agencies all share offices in one building at 4040 Palm Beach Blvd. and work as a team to solve the complex problems of poor or struggling families nearby. Full Story
14th annual Jewish Book Fair set in Lee and Charlotte

Donna Page was faced with eviction when her fiancé died. Marie Burda was at wits end on how to pay the bills when she underwent foot surgery only to have her husband break his leg in a car accident the following day. The Edison Estates receives national award
The National Trust for Historic Preservation presented the Edison & Ford Winter Estates the Trustee Emeritus Award for Excellence in the Stewardship of Historic Sites. More than a hundred years ago, Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, two of history's most inventive and influential geniuses, were good friends and next-door neighbors with side-byside winter homes in Fort Myers. Stay Alive, Just Drive is holding "Bikes, Blues & BBQ" Nov. 23 at the Sun Sports Mall on Colonial Boulevard to raise awareness for its effort to curb distracted driving.
