Florida Gulf Coast University Professor of Economics and Finance

Bradley K. Hobbs was named the BB&T Professor of Free Enterprise at FGCU. This professorship was established recently through a major gift from BB&T Corp. to enhance economic understanding both within the university and in the greater Southwest Florida community. The professorship will help underwrite the development of a new course, the Moral Foundations of Capitalism, which will become a permanent component of the economics and finance curriculum within the college. Funding from the gift will provide students majoring in economics and finance in the Lutgert College of Business with a copy of the book "Atlas Shrugged," by Ayn Rand. Exposure to this text will provide students with a deeper perspective on capital markets and economic development.
