Seven model homes sell at Mediterra in 2008

Seven fully furnished model homes totaling more than $21.47 million sold during the first three quarters at Mediterra, Bonita Bay Group's 1,697-acre master-planned community in North Naples. The models, all single-family custom homes, ranged in price from just over $2 million to $4.5 million. The median sales price was $3.13 million.

The sales numbers are up compared to a year ago. Four model homes sold in Mediterra during the first three quarters of 2007, said Gary Dumas, vice president of Bonita Bay Group. All of the 2008 sales were co-brokered by independent real estate professionals.

"Mediterra has always had tremendous sales success with its model homes," said Dumas. "Visitors walk into these fully furnished homes and get a true sense of how it fits their lifestyle. They don't have to imagine where to put the sofa or how to arrange furniture to take advantage of the view. That's all been done for them."

McGarvey Custom Homes posted two model sales, La Casina and Villa Rosa. Additional model sales included Landmark Development Group's Talavera, Kingon Homes' Bellissimo, Harwick Homes' Mondavio, Kurtz Homes' Serena and Harbourside Custom Homes' Grande Tuscano.

The overall master plan for the 1,697- acre Mediterra community may include up to 950 residences and more than 1,000 acres of open space.
