Culinary artists selected for Art Royale

Art Royale, the Alliance for the Arts annual fundraising event, not only features interactive exhibits and captivating performances, but integrates the uniqueness of culinary artists into the mix.

On Nov. 22, at 6:30 p.m., local restaurants, catering groups and confectionary artists join forces with the Alliance to provide an interpretive taste of the theme "Lost in Translation."

The Alliance campus will be sprinkled with culinary exhibitions presenting gourmet foods revolving around the theme. The Alliance did provide some guidance to local artists asking them to create a dish or two keeping the following words in mind: sear, dunk, dip, swirl, char, bake, freeze, or flame.

"I am excited about the vast diversity of foods being created by these talented chefs and how they will present their own edible concept of, 'Lost in Translation,'" said Scott Guelcher, the 2008 Art Royale chair.

This year's 2008 Art Royale culinary artist participants include: Artisan Bread Company, The FGCU Resort and Hospitality Catering Class, The Flying Pig, Irresistible Confections, Starbucks, Bistro 41, Prawnbroker, Ada's Natural Foods, and The Sandy Butler.

Get prepared to experience an arts event unlike anything before.

Single tickets are available now for $75 each or $125 for a pair.
