Gala to celebrate the legacies of Edison and Ford

The board of directors of the Edison Ford Winter Estates Foundation, in conjunction with the Edison & Ford Winter Estates board, announced that the foundation's annual signature fundraising event, The Edison Ford Winter Estates Foundation Gala, will be held on Friday, Nov. 14, on the grounds of the Edison & Ford Winter Estate, 2350 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers.

This year's event chairperson is Julie Dean Griffith.

The event will feature a reception and private dinner on the grounds of the Estates featuring live entertainment and a small live auction featuring items that represent a piece of the past and treasures of today.

"The theme 'The Perfect Pair' sums up our celebration of these two special friends who helped change our world, Thomas Edison and Henry Ford," said Griffith. "It is our desire to keep their spirit alive and their estates in fine condition for generations to come."

The event's goal is to raise funds to support the preservation and restoration of the Estates.

Event and table sponsors are still available. For more information, contact the Edison Ford Winter Estates Foundation office at 274-2377.
