County building permits ties record low month
During September, Lee County Community Development issued permits for 32 single-family homes valued at $8.8 million to be built in unincorporated Lee County. This tied the record monthly low set in December 2007.
In comparison, there were 37 permits for single-family homes issued in August and 49 issued in September 2007.
There were six multi-family units, all in duplexes, permitted in unincorporated Lee County during September, compared to 32 the previous month and 18 in September 2007.
Permits were issued for seven new commercial buildings valued at $3.2 million in unincorporated Lee County, compared to $6.2 million the previous month. In September 2007, newly permitted commercial buildings were valued at $5.1 million.
Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development, and building services, environmental review, building inspection and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of the county.
