Berti's Hancock Bridge Market Sawgrass Construction completed Berti's Hancock Bridge Market in North Fort Myers. The market opened last month. Joe McKenzie, owner of Sawgrass Construction, a residential and commercial building company, was the project's designer and builder. This is one of North Fort Myers' newest buildings.
Stevens Construction Inc. won three Summit Awards at the third annual Lee Building Industry Association Commercial Contractors Council Summit Awards event. Stevens Construction won Best Office Project for Florida Gulf Bank at Coconut Point and Best Renovation Project for the Mid- Rise Entryways at Shell Point Retirement Community. The firm also received a merit award for its corporate brochure. The Summit Awards program recognizes BIA members who have obtained an outstanding level of success and demonstrated superior professionalism in the commercial construction industry throughout the year.
J.L. Wallace Inc. won a Summit Award from the Lee Building Industry Association at the annual awards dinner. Wallace received the Summit Award for Best Industrial Building Project for the construction of Country Lakes Business Center. Designed by Alan D. Esparza, Architect, the project consisted of two tilt-wall buildings totaling 47,360 square feet, a more than 1-acre concrete fenced, outdoor storage area, and concrete retaining wall.
Gulf Coast Hospital Sunshine Structures, Inc., has completed the structural concrete and masonry for general contractor Skanska USA on the four-story Gulf Coast Hospital located at 13681 Doctor's Way, Fort Myers. Sunshine Structures constructed all concrete and masonry systems for the 420,000 square foot building, using cast-in-place concrete, masonry block construction and light weight concrete decks. Perkins + Will Architects designed the building. Eric Miller served as the project manager for Sunshine Structures, and Bruce Roberts was project superin-
