Sanibel artists judged best in 'Cele-BRA-tion' exhibit
Life Draw 11-29-07, acrylic, by Sanibel artist Carol Rosenberg. Sanibel resident and San-Cap Art League member Carol Rosenberg's acrylic painting "Life Draw 11-29-07" has been awarded first place in "Cele- BRA-tion." It was painted at an area Life Drawing Open Studio session using a local model. This annual theme exhibit is presented by The Art League of Fort Myers and contains art work related to breast cancer awareness.
Rosenberg has participated in Life Drawing at BIG ARTS for 20 years and currently facilitates the seasonal Friday morning Open Studio four-week series that begin this month. She is a member of several area art organizations including the newly-formed Portrait & Figure Painters Society of Southwest Florida.
"Cele-BRA-tion" was open to area artists and features original artwork in various media, including oils, watercolors, acrylics, digital prints, collages and photography. A portion of the artists' sales will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. This exhibit will be on view until Oct. 31. The gallery and gift shop are located at 1451 Monroe Street in downtown Fort Myers.
