$10 Coupons for microchip pet IDs The goal of the event is to increase awareness about the vast number of orphaned pets in Lee County and all of Southwest Florida. The Fest will offer a variety of educational opportunities such as pet care and dog training demonstrations as well as lots of fun for pet owners and their pets. This is the largest yearly gathering of shelters and rescues from the tri-county area with hundreds of pets available for adoption.
In 2007 more than 30,000 pets ended up in local shelters in Southwest Florida. Due to pet overpopulation many were unable to be placed in new homes. Lee County Animal Services and the Animal Care Trust would like to see every available home filled by a shelter animal.
