With a crisp approach to the classics, the Windsor Smith Collection debuts with fabrics, rugs at Kravet

SPECIAL TO FLORIDA WEEKLY

COURTESY PHOTO COURTESY PHOTO A lover of treasures, traditions and architecture of the past, Windsor Smith has restored and decorated some of the finest estates in Brentwood, Bel-Air, Beverly Hills and the Eastern Shore. She is a lifestyle architect, known for bringing back libraries, morning rooms, garden rooms and other spaces that families can share and enjoy.

Her new line of casually elegant fabrics and rugs, the Windsor Smith Collection, is now available at Kravet in the International Design Center, Estero.

In launching the collection, Kravet embraces the vision and color sensibility of the eclectic L.A. designer. Her bold, classically inspired designs are available in drapery and upholstery qualities as well as a series of customizable rugs.

The fabric collection is a testament to Windsor's approach to lifestyle and design. Inspired by simple iconic patterns from the past and from around the world, Windsor brings a crisp approach to the well-lived classics. Graceful patterns and subtle colorations on washed linen can stand on their own or create an architecture onto which other patterns and textures can be layered.

COURTESY PHOTO COURTESY PHOTO Carpeting in the Windsor Smith Collection for Kravet also introduces an innovative concept. The design-yourown rug option allows designers to achieve the look they desire by choosing from a number of fields, borders and medallion patterns. Designers can custom color or choose from among the 36 color combinations that Windsor has selected. These rugs are hand woven in Nepal with a knot count of 100.

Kravet is a fourth-generation, privately held family business with headquarters in Bethpage, N.Y. The company offers a wide range of fabrics with designs that range from traditional to the newest in contemporary colors and patterns.

Earlier this year the company celebrated its 90th year in business and continues to focus its efforts on introducing designer-inspired licensed fabric and trimmings collections as well as new ventures in upholstered furniture and other home furnishings.
