Symphony board appoints new officers
The Southwest Florida Symphony announced the appointment of the following Board of Trustee officers for the 2008-09 Season: Scott Gregory, president; Roxanne Schwartz, first vice president; J. Thomas Uhler, second vice president and development chair; Joseph A,. Troiano, secretary; and David Hall, treasurer.
Additional newcomers to the Symphony Board of Trustees include Christine La Croix, education chair; and Dr. Rosemary Wittstadt, president, Symphony Society.
Symphony Endowment Foundation announces new trustees and officers
The Southwest Florida Symphony Endowment Foundation announced the appointment of new trustees and the election of officers for 2008- 09. The Endowment Foundation was established by the Symphony in 2001 as a separate non-profit corporation, operating under the direction of an independent board of trustees.
Newly appointed to the Foundation Board are Trustees Michael Schneider- Christians of Cape Coral, chair; David Carleton Hall of Fort Myers, vice chair/ assistant treasurer; and Robert L. Fuchs of Fort Myers, secretary/treasurer.
Gregory Schneider-Christians described the mission of the Foundation as expanding and managing its base of financial assets to help the Symphony achieve long-range operational goals and objectives. These include building a core orchestra and providing continuing support for many of the Symphony's important educational scholarships and award programs. He added that a significant bequest this year from a longtime Symphony patron that raised assets to $1 million.
