Hodges University has named Carmen Rey-Gomez as the director of the newly formed Hispanic Institute. The office of the Hispanic Institute is located on the Fort Myers campus of Hodges University, located at 4501 Colonial Blvd. Rey-Gomez is a member of the Lee County Multicultural Affairs Advisory Board. Previously, she was the director of student support services at Edison State College, where she worked to retain and graduate first generation, low-income and disabled students. She received her masters in social work degree from the University of Connecticut. In addition to her experience in education, she has more than 15 years in the health and human services industry.
