FGCU Bower School of Music faculty perform in concert
Six faculty members of the Florida Gulf Coast University Bower School of Music will perform the piano and wind music of Francis Poulenc at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 in the Student Union ballroom,. The concert is free and open to the public.
The six performers not only teach music at FGCU, but also perform widely. Head of Piano Studies Michael Baron performs at least 40 concerts a year around the world. Bill Larsen is principal flutist with the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra. Aaron Ichiro Hilbun has distinguished himself as an oboe soloist on four continents and with many orchestras. Paul Votapek is principal clarinetist with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra. Kristen Sonneborn is principal bassoonist with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra. Kirsten Bendixen-Mahoney plays horn with the Naples Philharmonic.
