"Barely a Chance" to screen at Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival
SPECIAL TO FLORIDA WEEKLY
"Barely a Chance," an independent film shot and produced in Southwest Florida by Eric Raddatz, will show at this year's Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.
Now in its 23rd year, the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival will screen 200 films from around the globe. Filmmakers and celebrities will attend many of the screenings and events over the 37-day fest that runs from Oct. 14 through Nov. 20. Parties and gatherings at area "hot spots," on board yachts, and on the beach will provide audiences an opportunity to hobnob with film talent and other movie buffs.
"I'm looking forward the social submersion and mix-up of such eclectic and creative forces from the area," Raddatz said. "It is really an honor to be a part of this festival and be surrounded by an international group of talent."
Filmed in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Captiva Island, Bonita Springs and Naples, "Barely a Chance" is about the journey of a man who, miserably mired in the '90s, becomes single and utilizes the five stages of grief to accept his dysfunctional and dork-like identity. The movie stars Keegan Shayne, Scott Thompson, Doug MacGregor, Amy Whicker, Jessica DiTomaso, and Raddatz, who directed and produced the 12-minute film. The movie's soundtrack is by local musicians Heather Brooks, Mike Rogers, DJ Michael Briscoe, Dan Miller, Danny Sinoff, Darrell Nutt, and Kelsey Merritt.
