Florida Rep looking for local performers

Florida Repertory Theatre is holding local auditions for the few remaining open roles in its 11th season. This is an open call for non-union, local professionals. An appointment is required.

Auditions will be held on Monday, Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Audition slots are five minutes long.

Performers are asked to prepare two brief contrasting monologues and to bring a picture and resume stapled together.

To make an appointment, call the Audition Hotline at (239) 332-4665 ext. 30. Leave a message with your name, phone number and choice of audition time and date, and messages will be returned within 48 hours.

The auditions will be held in Florida Rep's studio space located at 2267 First Street in the Fort Myers River District.

Available Roles: . Born Yesterday by Garson Kanin

Oct. 24 - Nov. 16

Ensemble: one African American male, age 20-50. . Indian Blood, a new play by A.R. Gurney

Nov. 28 - Dec. 21

Role: Eddie. Actor must pass for 16. Charming, endearingly conniving narrator of the play. Must carry the show.

Role: Lambert. Eddie's cousin and classmate. Close to Eddie's age. An apple polisher. . Alone Together by Lawrence Roman

Feb. 13 - March 8

Role: Keith Butler. Age 19, athletic. The youngest Butler son, just leaving for college.

Role: Janie Johnson. Age 18. Effervescent, beautiful, vacant; is usually scantily clad. . The Art of Murder, a new play by Joe DiPietro

March 20 - April 12

Role: Kate. Age 20s. Attractive, young, Irish immigrant. Maid in the wealthy Brooks household.
