Elkins Planned Giving Council of Lee County, Inc. has named its officers and board members for 2008-09. Officers are President,
Dr. Julia East, Southwest Florida Community Foundation; Vice President, Programs:
Peter C. Lefferts, Florida Gulf Coast University; Vice President, Nonprofit Member- ship: Mary Moore, Habitat for Humanity of Lee County; Vice President, Aligned Services Membership: Todd Adams, Mills-Price and Associates, Inc.; Treasurer: Donald L. Haisman, Haisman Wealth Management, Inc.; and Secretary: Beth Sanger, Cape Coral Community Foundation. Board members are: Tom Brown, United Way of Lee County; Carl P. Grissom, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network; Arlene Knox, Southwest Florida Community Foundation; Mike Sullivan, ECHO; Todd Cordisco, Lee Mental Health; and Diane Connell, Children's Advocacy Center. Established in 1994, The Planned Giving Council of Lee County provides educational programs, technical support, and guidance to professionals involved in all aspects of charitable planned giving.
Jones The Children's Museum of Naples announced that Shirlene Elkins, Edward J. Jones and Linda Malone recently joined the C'mon board of directors which has grown to 14 members. Elkins founded Children's Charities, which sends local high school seniors to college, based totally on their need rather than grades. Currently there are six children in the program that are attending a Florida college or university. Jones, retired managing director and chief information officer for Deutsche Bank's global technologies and operations in Canada, U.S. and Latin America, brings 20-plus years of global banking, financial and information technology experience. Malone also serves on the board of directors of Boys & Girls Club of Collier County, David Lawrence Foundation and The Immokalee Foundation. Additional members of the C'mon board of directors are: Lou P. Astorino, Kim Barnett-Buckheit, Lisa Barnett, Pam Becker, John Fumagalli, Allyson Loos, Simone Lutgert, Mayela Rosales, Nancy Ross and Mary Smallwood.
Malone Mary Moore has been newly named director of donor relations at ECHO. Moore has been fundraising in Southwest Florida since 2002. She has previously worked with Habitat for Humanity of Lee County and spent four years at Shellpoint in itsfoundation and sales and marketing office. She is on the board for the Planned Giving Council of Lee County and has a Registered Paraplanner designation. ECHO (Educational Concerns for Hunger Organization) provides sustainable options to world hunger through agricultural training, innovative ideas, and networking.
The Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida announced the addition of a Donice Dawson (American Momentum Bank) as a new board member. The Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida is governed by a 25-member volunteer board of community leaders, employees of private businesses and parents. Charged with management and oversight of the School Readiness and Voluntary Prekindergarten programs in Collier, Hendry, Glades and Lee Counties, the Early Learning Coalition in partnership with Community Coordinated Care for Children served over 10,000 children this year
