Community Guitar Orchestra to start in Fort Myers

Classical guitarist Matthew Jampol has organized a new Community Guitar Orchestra for all guitar players. The ensemble will have three sections: beginners who can play chords, intermediate players who can play arpeggios or fingerpick, and advanced players who can read music and play melodies. The group will meet twice a month and will eventually play for community groups and fund raisers.

"The effort is to bring guitarists together throughout the area and provide entertainment for community events," said Jampol.

Jampol is an international soloist who has performed classical Spanish guitar concerts for 25 years. He has relocated to Fort Myers and will be teaching individuals, groups and the guitar orchestra. His weekly Sunday morning television show of classical Spanish guitar for children, called Kidzconcert," will air on Telemundo soon.
