FLORIDA WEEKLY FILE PHOTO Comedian Joan Rivers was last year's Arts for ACT guest celebrity auctioneer. The August event's preview is Thursday, July 10 at the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery on the campus of Edison College. Join Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc. for the preview exhibit for Arts for ACT 2008 on Thursday, July 10, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Bob Rauschenberg Gallery on the campus of Edison College in Fort Myers.

View the artworks from international artists such as the late Robert Rauschenberg, Darryl Pottorf, Jasper Johns, Tony Bennett and more.

This year, more than 100 pieces of art will be prominently displayed in the Rauschenberg Gallery, ranging from oils, watercolors, collage, mixed media, sculpture and jewelry. There is truly something for every art lover and buyer.

Last year, more than 800 people gathered at the event to view art and converse with artists, friends and the who's who of Fort Myers.

Art lovers will also have the opportunity of buying that favorite piece before it goes on the auction block.

This year's auction event, with the goal of raising $500,000, will be held on Aug. 16 at the Coconut Hyatt in Bonita Springs. The Guest Celebrity Auctioneer will be announced soon. Only 900 tickets are available for the live art auction dinner, so reserve your table or buy your tickets now.
