Revisiting your business plan: Are you planning to succeed?
Wagner The Sanibel-Captiva chapter of the American Business Women's Association will host a seminar by Wanda Wagner of Wagner and Associates, at their monthly meeting on July 8 at the Sanibel Community Center. Networking begins at 5:30 p.m., and dinner is served at 6.
A New England native, Wagner began her professional career in the Washington, D.C. office of an international management consulting firm. From there, she was posted to Tokyo and then Stockholm. After spending three years abroad, she returned to the U.S. to join a Tokyo office colleague in a new venture on Florida's Southwest coast. Following an eight-year stint in resort and real estate development on two separate islands, She left to start her own consulting practice. During this time, she also returned to school and obtained an MBA as a member of FGCU's inaugural Executive MBA class of 1999.
In her talk, Wagner will cover the importance of a written business plan, what constitutes a good plan, and why revisiting your business plan regularly is important. Three questions she will answer include "What is the objective of a business plan," "What are the key elements of a good plan," and "How often is often enough to revisit your plan?"
Installing the new officers for the 2008-2009 year is also on the agenda. The new officers to be installed are Carol Simontacchi (President), Judy Michie (1st Vice President), Gloria Baker (2nd Vice President), Tammy Pufahl (Secretary), and Julie DeBord returns as Treasurer.
The ABWA, which meets on the second Tuesday of each month, focuses on bringing together women of diverse professional and business interests to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professional through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition. The purpose of the networking time is to build networking skills and provide business building opportunities for Sanibel and Captiva businesswomen.
