CELEBRATING RAUSCHENBERG
Robert Rauschenberg 1925-2008
Edison College hosted a celebration of the famed artist's life on Saturday, June 21. The public event was held in the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall and the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery on Edison College's Lee Campus. Rauschenberg's son Chris and longtime companion Darryl Pottorf led the ceremonies.
Though the world knew him as Rauschenberg, locally, he was known as Bob. All you had to do was say "Bob," and people knew who you were talking about. He was well respected and much beloved.
Rauschenberg died in his home on Captiva on Monday, May 12 at the age of 82.
