Abbott's Frozen Custard opens on Fort Myers Beach
Abbott's Frozen Custard has opened its second store in the Naples/Fort Myers market last week. The new store is located at 1375 Estero Blvd on Fort Myers Beach across from the famous Lani Kai Hotel.
"With the tremendous success of our first location on 5th Ave. in Naples, opening the second location in Fort Myers made great sense," said Joe Francher owner of both locations.
On July 4th, Abbott's will offer free balloons to all children and specials through the day at both locations. The Naples & Fort Myers stores are not the first venture into the Florida market for the Western, New York based company; Vero Beach currently has two locations, which opened in 2005. A Tampa location opened in December 2007 and a store in Miami opened in May.
Franchisee Francher is president of The Francher Group. The company is based out of Naples and has numerous business and real estate interests in the region. The Francher Group plans to open several more Abbott's locations in the region in the next 24-48 months.
Abbott's Frozen Custard established in 1902, is a super premium ice cream business based in Rochester, NY, with over 40 locations. Abbott's offers a large selection of handmade premium ice cream products including made to order cakes, pies and hand dipped novelties. The 5th Ave. location offers a full menu of ice cream products that are made fresh, in-store, everyday. The Fort Myers store will offer take out only.
"The expansion introduces the Abbott's brand to a new consumer base in Fort Myers and we are excited to be part of such a wonderful community. We research each location and potential franchisee diligently and weigh many factors in determining which are best suited for our expansion strategy," said Donald Wolak, Abbott's Marketing Director.
