World Blood Donor Day this Saturday
Millions of people owe their lives to people they will never meet - people who donate their blood freely and without any reward. It is to these unsung heroes that World Blood Donor Day is dedicated.
June 14 has been selected as World Blood Donor Day by three major organizations: the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the International Federation of Blood Donor Organizations and the International Society of Blood Transfusion. These organizations have been joined by the World Health Organization, which is co-sponsoring the event.
Golden Corral, 4690 Colonial Blvd, will be hosting a Blood Drive that will benefit Lee Memorial Health System's five hospitals on Saturday, June 14, from 1 p.m.-7 p.m.
In addition to a LMHS Blood Center gift, every donor will receive a "buy one, get one free, buffet meal" coupon from Golden Corral.
For further information about donating blood call the Lee Memorial Blood Center at 334-5333.
