Lee Memorial physicians make 'Top Doctors' list

Thirty-two Lee Memorial Health System physicians were named as America's Top Doctors 2008 by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., an independent research and information company.

The doctors were nominated by their peers in an extensive survey process and reviewed by Castle Connolly's physiciandirected research team.

"We are very pleased, but not surprised, that so many local physicians are listed as Top Doctors", said Dr. Charles Krivenko, Chief Medical Officer for Clinical and Quality Services at Lee Memorial Health System. "We have an outstanding team of primary care and specialty physicians in Lee County. Not only are our residents and visitors being cared for by highly skilled physicians trained at some of the leading medical schools in the country, but we have physicians on national and state governance boards as well as physicians who perform procedures so advanced that patients come here from around the country for treatment."

In addition to the Top Doctors list, patients should consult their own physicians for specialist recommendations, county medical societies, and local, state and federal web sites such as Lee Memorial Health System (www. leememorial.org), the Florida Department of Health (www.doh.state.fl.us) or the National Institutes of Health (www. nih.gov).
