Compass Construction, Inc. announced that the company has began destruction of the barn damaged by Hurricane Charlie at the Tender Loving Care Homes for Children. Compass will donate the construction of a barn valued at approximately $50,000, which will produce monthly revenue from horse stall rentals.

Compass Construction, Inc. announced the completion of the new Moose Lodge #2199 located at 155 Santa Barbara Blvd. North in Cape Coral.

The $3.1 million project was completed more than 30 days ahead of schedule, allowing the Lodge to move their Grand opening date. This, along with staying well within the budget set by the Moose Lodge building committee made it a very successful project for all those involved.

John McFadden was the project manager for the project, and Dave Renderman was on site superintendent.

Eagle Concrete Systems has completed concrete work for general contractor DeAngelis Diamond on a three-story facility for Lock-Up Self Storage Suites located at Immokalee Road and Cypress Way East in Naples. Eagle Concrete constructed all structural concrete and masonry systems for the 109,433-square-foot building, using tiltup construction. Patrick M. Pillot Architects designed the building. Bobby Vetri served as the project executive for Eagle Concrete Systems, and Alonso Castillo was project superintendent.

Eagle Concrete Systems has also begun concrete and masonry work on Colonial Square Building 4B, a retail facility located at the intersection of Colonial Boulevard and Six Mile Cypress Parkway in Fort Myers. Eagle will provide the structure's concrete pads, footing, slab and CMU walls. Dave McNamara of Eagle Concrete Systems is the project manager, and Santos Miranda is the superintendent for the project. Benderson Development is the general contractor.

Nu-Cape Construction Company, a division of Owen-Ames-Kimball Company, will provide construction management services for Nova Southeastern University's new Fort Myers Student Educational Center. The new university operations will be located in a shell building currently under construction by Nu-Cape Construction. Replacing and expanding the Fort Myers operations, the 60,000-square-foot, four-story tenant buildout will also house the university's health care and allied professionals programs. The Nu-Cape team for this project will be Ron Berry as job site superintendent; Chuck Pringle as assistant job site superintendent; Rex Budd as general superintendent; and Butch McGovern, general manager of the Nu-Cape office, as the project manager.

J.L. Wallace Inc. has completed the renovation and expansion of the National Guard Armory, located at 3405 Marion St. in Fort Myers. The project entailed a renovation of the existing 10,520-square-foot National Guard Armory and a 2,500-square-foot expansion. Harold Morgan of J.L. Wallace served as senior project manager, and Jeff Griffith served as job superintendent.

Owen-Ames-Kimball Company provided construction management services for the first LEED certified elementary school in the state - Neil Armstrong Elementary School in Port Charlotte. The two-story, 112,000-square-foot elementary school is one of three replacement schools built by OAK for Charlotte County Public Schools to replace those damaged beyond repair during Hurricane Charley. OAK's project team consisted of job site superintendent Charlie Russell, assistant superintendent Vern Koch, project manager Frank Mullins and general superintendent Frank Bell. The LEED certification team leader was Jim Keohane, P.E., LEED AP, a principal at the firm of TLC Engineering.

STULTZ, Inc., General Contractors / Construction Managers, is moving to Summerlin Lakes Office Center in Fort Myers. STULTZ Real Estate Corp., Brokers / Property Managers, is also relocating to the new building. The new offices for both firms open June 5 at 5276 Summerlin Commons Way, suite 701, near the intersection of Summerlin Road and Boy Scout Road in Fort Myers.
