Local artist launches Web site

Event will benefit Wiggins Beach volunteers

Bill North Bill North The grand opening of artist William North's new beach-scene print gallery Web site www. dwigginsart.com will take place Saturday, May 31, in Cyberspace.

Opening event elements will include showing available prints of the artist's Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park paintings, with a donation of 30 percent of all opening-day proceeds to the Park's volunteer Citizen Support Organization and a free gallery-choice print with each purchase. Print prices range from $15 to $35.

E-mail purchases can be made Saturday, May 31, until midnight, and phone sales to (239) 489-2211 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The gallery is closed Sunday.

The www.dwigginsart. com Web site offers reproductions of Wiggins Beach and Wiggins Pass oil paintings by North. Prints are double matted, limited editions in a variety of sizes, and signed by the artist. A permanent feature of the Web site is a donation of 20 percent of all proceeds to benefit the volunteer work of the CSO.

North is a well-known area artist who has a close relationship with Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park developed over a 14-year span of painting on location. Last year he was named the Park's 2007 Artist in Residence.
