Wright Construction to build habitat home in 5 days
Habitat for Humanity of Lee County is kicking off "Home Builders Blitz" as part of a nationwide effort to encourage local contractors to get involved in the local Habitat affiliate's mission. So far, 110 Habitat affiliates will participate in the one week, building efforts; raising more than 250 homes in the United States. The Blitz Build will take place around the country June 2-6.
Locally, Wright Construction Group will complete a Habitat home from frame to finish; using their materials and labor, in just five days. The construction group will be building "green" with Habitat. All power tools and materials that utilize electricity will be running off Wright's solar powered trailer during the week long blitz. The home will go up at 1028 Windsor Drive in Fort Myers. A homeowner is already selected to receive the home.
The Blitz Build will allow affiliates like Habitat for Humanity of Lee County to increase their capacity by continuing with regular production schedules while professional builders organize and execute the blitz build - doing what they do best - organizing their subs and suppliers to completely build the house. Throughout Lee County, several restaurants have also stepped up to the Builders Blitz challenge and will contribute to the build doing what they do best, serving up food! Bob Evans Restaurant, The Prawnbroker Restaurant Group, Chik-Fil-A, Sanibel Bean, Elephant Bar Restaurant and Costco will all be providing the construction crew with meals for the day.
