Sporting Clays Classic upcoming

The Annual Southwest Florida Sporting Clays Classic will be held at the Sarasota Trap, Skeet & Clays Club in Nokomis on Friday, May 30.

Sponsored by Johnson Engineering, the event is open to youth and adults. The entry fee includes ammunition, 50 sporting clays, continental breakfast, BBQ lunch, and awards. Proceeds will go to the Boy Scouts of America, Southwest Florida Council.

"The Sarasota Club will make Wobble Trap, 5 Stand and Trap and Skeet available throughout the competition, so the competitors will not have to wait between rounds," said Brad Walden, program director for the Southwest Florida Council. "The new sporting clays course is designed to simulate every conceivable situation, a bird, rabbit or duck hunter would encounter. It should be a challenging and exciting event."
