Space 39 features local artists

Space 39 has announced an updated schedule for the 2008 spring/summer season.

The opening reception for "Reflexive," featuring the works of Pavol Roskovensky will be held from 6-10 p.m. on May 17. The artist explores a more naturalistic method of painting. Letting go of control as well as his paintbrush, he creates images that are meticulously detailed and provide an almost spiritual transcendence. He explores the idea that true nature can not be rendered on a picture plane by a human hand. He works with natural elements to create his paintings, while in the process he is more of a spectator, than creator. The exhibit will be on display from May 17 to June 15.

The opening reception for "New Works," featuring the distinguished students of Florida Gulf Coast University will be held from 6-10 p.m. on June 28. The exhibit will be on display from June 28 to July 19. Please call ahead for summer hours.
