Students awarded scholarships from Naples Art Association
The Naples Art Association at The von Liebig Art Center is pleased to announce that six local high school students have each won a $1,000 scholarship to pursue art studies in college. The winners were selected from artwork submitted to the association's 37th annual Jade N. Riedel Scholarship Competition. The awards were announced during a preview reception on April 11. Full Story
Space 39 hosts two exhibits
The opening reception for "Reflexive," featuring the works of Pavol Roskovensky, will be held from 6-10 p.m. on May 17. The artist explores a more naturalistic method of painting, creating images that are meticulously detailed and provide an almost spiritual transcendence. The Friends of the Cape Coral Library announce a new, four-artist exhibit which will run from May 3 through June 11. The gallery, located at 921 SW 39th Terrace, off Mohawk Boulevard, is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The featured artists are Casey Siewerski, Dena Shepherd, Cecelia Cutcher and John Schellenberg. The Fantasticks come to the Foulds
The world's longest running musical, "The Fantasticks," will be presented by Jodick Productions at the Foulds theatre inside the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers on the weekends of April 25 and May 2. Cooney productions featured at Schoolhouse Theater
This summer the Schoolhouse Theater will be presenting Ray Cooney's hits "Run for Your Wife" and the sequel "Caught in the Net." On May 24, "Run for Your Wife" will open and play four days a week - Monday through Wednesday and Saturday. Then on June 14, "Caught in the Net" opens and the rotation begins. Full Story
