Lee issues only 47 home permits in March

Down from 63 in February

During March, Lee County Community Development issued permits for 47 singlefamily homes to be built in unincorporated Lee County, Bonita Springs and Fort Myers Beach.

Residential permits were valued at $19.5 million in March. There were 63 permits issued in February and 318 in March 2007.

There were 24 multi-family units permitted in March, down from 36 the previous month and 290 in March 2007.

Permits were issued for 18 new commercial buildings valued at $6.4 million, down from $16 million the previous month and $23.9 million in March 2007.

Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development, and building services, environmental review, building inspection and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of the county, and permitting services for Bonita Springs and Fort Myers Beach.
