First Community Bank earns award
School district names it 'Business Partner of the Year'
SPECIAL TO FLORIDA WEEKLY
Hall First Community Bank of Southwest Florida has been named Business Partner of the Year by the School District of Lee County.
First Community Bank of Southwest Florida will be presented the Florida Commissioner of Education's Business Recognition Award at a gala ceremony on April 10 in Jacksonville. Each year, the Florida Education Foundation and Florida Department of Education honor businesses throughout the state that have shown an outstanding commitment to improving education by partnering with schools in their communities.
Led by President and Chief Operating Officer David Hall, First Community supports Lee County schools by participating in activities with the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium, Junior Achievement, the Finance Committee for the School District and the student programs at the Symphony for Southwest Florida and the Florida Repertory Theatre.
"We believe that one of the best ways to support our community is to provide support to our schools, which are responsible for nurturing and educating our children," said Hall. "These efforts go a long way towards shaping the way our community will look tomorrow."
First Community Bank of Southwest Florida is part of Southwest Florida Community Bancorp Inc., a local holding group that includes Community Bank of Cape Coral and Sanibel Captiva Community Bank. Through its family of three local banks, Southwest Florida Community Bancorp has been part of the Lee County banking community since the late 1990s. It has eight banking offices and consolidated assets of $500 million. The bank group is the largest community bank in Lee County as measured by deposit volume.
