Alternative planning subject of Land Institute talk

The Urban Land Institute Southwest Florida District Counsel will host a breakfast meeting on "Real Urbanism: An Alternative Planning Approach" on Wednesday, April 30. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. at The Plantation Golf & Country Club, 10500 Dartington Drive in Fort Myers.

The featured speaker is Bernard Zyscovich, President and Managing Partner of Bernard Zyscovich, AIA. Zyscovich has been probing the parameters of design innovation for more than 30 years. A dedicated preservationist and urbanist, he has served in numerous community leadership roles, including Chairmanship of the Miami Design Preservation League, the organization responsible for the historic designation of the Miami Beach Art Deco District.

His writing on architecture and urban design has been widely published in numerous magazines. His book, "The Technique for Creating Real Urbanism," was published by the Urban Land Institute in 2007
