Surging foreclosures in Florida are sending home prices south and luring buyers back into the market. According to the Mortgage Bankers Association, the rate of foreclosure starts in Florida more than tripled between the fourth quarter of 2006 and the fourth quarter of 2007. Full Story

PACE gets big donation

The Slaw Dog Invitational was held for the 11th consecutive year at Cypress Lake County Club in December. The charity for this year's event was The Pace Center for Girls, Lee County, which received a check for nearly $15,000. The PACE Center for Girls in Lee County opened in February 2007 and provides girls and young women an opportunity for a better future through education, counseling, training and advocacy. Fischer and Sands of are the co-sponsors of the tournament which is held annually to benefit various charities. Full Story
