Fort Myers road closings and openings

During the City of Fort Myers Downtown Utility & Streetscape Improvements Project roads are opening and closing frequently due to utility replacement work. Here is an updated list of road closures and openings.

OPEN

• Lee Street from First Street to Second Street, including the intersection of Lee and Second Street is now complete and open to traffic.

• The Hendry Street/Second Street intersection opened on Friday, March 28.

• Broadway from Main Street to First Street is scheduled to open by Friday, April 4.

CLOSED

• Richmond Street is closed.

• Royal Palm Avenue from First Street to Second Street is closed.

• First Street from Jackson Street to Hendry Street is closed.

• First Street from Hendry Street to Broadway was scheduled to close Tuesday, April 1. The intersection of Dean Street and First Street will not close until Broadway is open from First Street to Main Street.

• Jackson Street, Lee Street, Bay Street, Edwards Drive and Monroe Street can all be used as through streets during this time to get around the downtown area.

This schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather and unforeseen underground conditions, etc.
